Teaninich Distillery Info
1871 Teaninich Distillery owned by the Munro family
1933 Sold to Distillers Company Ltd.
1939 – 1946 closed
1970 A new distillery building housing 6 new Stills was built to increase production. The existing 4 stills remained in operation until 1984
1985 the distillery was mothballed.
1986 sold to United Distillers
1991 The new distiller building resumed production.
1997 Guinness, owners of United Distillers merged with Grand Metropolitan to form Diageo
2013 Diageo renovated the distillery
Teaninich has no official distillery bottling. There is a 10 YO available in the Flora and Fauna range. The independent bottles regularly gain excellent reviews.
It is important to take into consideration the following before purchase.
- The cask will lose between 1.5 and 2.5 % of the contents, the angel’s share, every year.
- Additional costs. You are liable for the cost of Bottling, Labelling, Packaging, Transportation, Import, Malaysian tax and alcohol duty for your share of the cask.
- At an additional cost you can have custom labelling
- The cask will be left to mature for a minimum of 8 years.
